Dobbs and Jobs...and Jobs Now. When's the last time you heard President Obama talk about putting 30 million unemployed Americans back to work? When's the last time you heard this Congress talk about plans to put 30 million unemployed Americans back to work? Where are our priorities, Independent America? We are America, by God, and we need to focus on the nation's middle class and good-paying American jobs.
And that's why right here on this Independent radio broadcast, and every night at 7 pm on my CNN broadcast, I'll be reporting on and talking about what, if anything, our so-called representatives in Washington are doing to create quality jobs in this country. Frankly it's an issue that's being overlooked by this White House, by this Congress, by the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable, by almost every institution required to be involved and engaged in the creation of jobs. And it's appalling. Say it with me now: JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. We need to stay vigilant on what the Democrats and the national liberal media call health care reform, on cap and trade, on this massive government expansion...but there is no excuse for losing sight of the fact that we need to put people back to work.
And on that note we must give some props to General Motors, the new GM if you will. General Motors is increasing its production and calling 1,350 of its U.S. and Canadian auto workers back to work due to increased demand for its vehicles. We called GM, and they said about 1,000 of those 1,350 jobs will be here in America. GM will also keep select plants open during weeks that they had previously been forecast to be shut down. The Orion Township, Mich., plant, which had been scheduled to close for nearly two years in mid-September, will now remain in operation until just before Thanksgiving. That should increase the paychecks for an about 10,000 GM workers beyond those called back to work.
We also want to give some credit to companies like Ford, Dell, AK Steel and truck maker Oshkosh - they have all reached out to previously laid-off employees to meet rising demand. Independent America, if you are hearing of more companies either re-hiring workers or hiring new workers, we want to know. We want to know who's doing their part to find good-paying jobs for unemployed Americans. Give us a call at 877-55-DOBBS, or email me through loudobbs.com.
